Where does the time go?? Jack is done with his 1st year of preschool. I would really be freaking out, but I think I have decided to hold him back a year since his bday is in July so he really has two years of preschool left. If I was looking at only one more fast year like this one was I would be one sad lady!! He had so much fun in preschool. I think he is really missing it this summer. He never wanted to stay home and they learned so many great things. I definitely noticed a difference in his listening and helping and everything when he was expected to listen to another person. He had a bunch of fun field trips and and he memorized so many cute little poems, songs and stories. I think preschool is the best!! I am happy that he is now in swimming lessons with his preschool teacher. He loves her! Next year, he is going three days a week and I think he can't wait!

I'm Back!!

Man, having two kids sucks all your time. I have a bunch to update on here, but I have kept putting it off to do in one big chunk, but now I think I have too much to update!! I am hoping that the kids stay in "quiet time" for a bit so I can get some of it out of the way. Things have been going great! We are enjoying the lazy days of summer, although it seems like these lazy days are ten times busier than the school days. It is so blasted hot that I am trying to find anything to occupy our time and keep cool so I guess that makes things seem busier. Things with the two kids have been going really well and the only things I am struggling with is finding time to do ANYTHING... trying to keep Jack from harassing Savannah and just trying to find quality time to spend with each child. Jack has been great and is not jealous of Savannah and if anything loves her too much, but he has taken to sleeping in our bed EVERY single night and is starting to get the hint of an attitude. I'm trying different methods and hoping we can break him of these things shortly. We are planning a vacation to Disneyland in September and Savannah is sitting up and starting to eat baby food. Time is flying by!!

I competed in my first triathlon since being pregnant and having Savannah yesterday. I was talked into it by friends at the gym while I was pregnant, and I wasn't too sure about it so soon after having the baby. Luckily, the birth was a breeze and my recovery was amazing. I felt so great after having her. I was able to start running again about 3 weeks after having her. I have been able to bounce back quickly and am now up to running 7 miles at a time at an 8:30 pace (or so). Spinning has always felt good and I feel stronger in every way since having this baby. It is a world different from when I had Jack, but I guess that is because I was in good shape when I got pregnant and throughout my pregnancy. The swim was always the issue for me, and I have only swam three times in the last 2 years. I was pleasantly surprised to be faster than I thought I was and I can do 300 meters in about 6:30.

Yesterday dawned cloudy and pouring rain so I wasn't that excited to get out there. I was a bit of a buzz kill on the drive to American Fork. Luckily the ladies with laughing with me and we didn't know what to expect. We got down there and they announced that they had canceled the swim and we would be doing a run, bike, run. We started with a 1mi run. That felt good and really helped to warm us up. The bike was next and it was almost 13 miles. I loved that. I was a little nervous on the wet roads, but overall it felt good. Next was the 5k run and that was harder than I expected. Getting off the bike to run really was hard. My legs felt like jello and I literally felt that I was running soo slow. It was hard to keep going and to get my legs moving. I started feeling better about half way in. It was still more painful than I was prepared for. When I saw the finish line, I kicked it in a bit more and finished with tears in my eyes. I finished in 1 hr and 19 min. That was good enough for 7th in my age group, but 3rd in my age group in my bike time. I was actually surprised to see that I finished the 5k in little more than 24 min. It felt A LOT slower than that. Overall, I was 63rd out of about 600 ladies so I can't complain with the top 10%.

I love my ladies from the gym. It sounds stupid to say it, but the gym has changed my life and really introduced me to my very best friends. I love that we can compete with each other, support each other and be there for each other. I am lucky to have such great ladies in my life. I am so grateful to be a woman. We are lucky to be able to create little tiny humans and to have such amazing bodies! I'm proud of myself and what my body can do. I am actually going to train harder for the next one to see what I am capable of!

Savannah is now 4 months old. My how times flies. I love this girl. We really seem to have a special bond. I know that Jack loves me and all, but he is a daddys boy. He loves his daddy and that is as it should be. Jason will be a great example to him of how to be a man and I don't mind that he would rather play Batman with Jason. I don't know the first thing about playing that stuff. I am just happy that I now have a girl that will hopefully want to play Barbies with me and I hope that I can be a good example of how to be a woman to her. I love how she stares at me and you can really see the love in her eyes. She is more comfortable with me than anyone else and she is the most pleasant baby out there. She is sleeping through the night (9 to 7). She is starting to giggle, reach for things, and she really wants to sit up. She started on rice cereal a few days ago. She doesn't quite get it yet, but shes learning. She looks so pretty with a bow on her head and I love dressing her up! We started bathing her a bit different and that is really fun to watch her splash around in the tub. She loves her big bro and will just stare at him as well. He loves her and to hear him talk to her in a high baby voice lights up my heart. I'm so thankful for this baby. I am taking her back to the doc this week. I'm excited to see how much she has grown.

I really enjoyed my first Mothers Day with two kids. It was especially fun to get a present from Jack that he made in preschool. I look forward to those little gifts! It was a really nice weekend. Jason held down the fort while I joined my ladies from the gym to ride in the Goldilocks bike ride in Herriman. It was 30 or 60 miles. I signed up while preggers so I only did the 30 miler. It was such fun!! Biking out on the road is great and spinning makes you way stronger than you think. I wish I would have done the 60, but I will give that a go next year. It really made me want to do another bike ride (maybe 50 miles) later this summer. I'll see if I can get Jason to do it with me.

Sunday was great. Jason and Jack made me breakfast and got me a statue that I have been wanting. We were able to go hang out with my mom and talk to my brother on his mission. It was fun to hear his voice and laugh with my family. I love being a mom more than anything. Jack and Savannah are the BEST kids and I am really treasuring this time with them. I am lucky to have a husband who works so hard to allow me to stay home with them. It is the most fun I have had in my life. Jack makes me laugh every day and even when I want to scream, I would not change a thing!! Mothers Day also makes me really proud to be a woman! I love all the ladies in my life (friends, sisters, mothers, grandmas). I really feel like I am part of something special because I am a woman.

Savannah's Blessing

We blessed Savannah on May 2. It was a wonderful day! The day before we spent getting ready. We went and bought new curtains for our family room and hung a few pictures. It's funny how it takes something like this happening before we get around to doing stuff like that. My house looks cuter and it is still clean! We had a great turnout of family and friends. She looked beautiful in her dress and Jason gave a wonderful blessing. She looked so cute that a few weeks ago I took her to get her pictures done professionally. Everyone came over to our house afterward and hung out for a few hours. Savannah was able to meet a few relatives she hadn't met yet and Jack had a great time with the kids that came. I am so thankful for the blessing of this sweet girl in our lives. She is the perfect, most angel baby ever. She started sleeping through the night about 3 weeks ago and will now sleep from 8 to about 630 or 7. She is starting to reach for things and trying to grab things and smiles her life away if she is fed and not tired. I love her so much. I'm thankful for the priesthood and my sweet husband being worthy to hold it. I love my little family. Being a mom is the best thing in my life.
