6 Years and Counting....

This post is a little late in coming... Our six year anniversary was last Saturday (Jan 24) and I have yet to post about it. The reason I haven't posted yet is that this is my first week back from a week of sickness... I must have caught something when we went to St. George and while I was there I ran a half marathon, which probably wasn't very smart... and it just made the sickness stick around longer. We did have a great time in St. George though and loved the 60 degree weather and clean air. Jack enjoyed getting to know his great-grams a little better and she was great to watch him a couple times for us so we could catch a movie and other things with friends. The half-marathon was fun, even though I wasn't feeling the best. Jason ran the 5k. Jack stayed with Grams. So, we came home from there and the next day I fainted on the bathroom floor. I have never fainted in my life... and it was a weird experience. I was getting up for the day and feeling a little better and stood at the sink to brush my teeth... I starting feeling really nauseous and the next thing I know, Jason is pounding on the door asking me if I was okay... I was a little disoriented and didn't know what was going on! Anyway, that began a week of no showers, lots of sleep, no working out and Jack coming down with 103 degree temperature on Thursday. We were lucky that we even got away to celebrate our anniversary.

For the big day, Jason booked us a night at Anniversary Inn, where we had never been. We left Jack with my parents and grabbed some Chinese food and headed up there. For anyone who hasn't been there, it is a must! It was such fun. We stayed in the Italian room and the bed was a big gondola. It was super cute. Jason had paid extra money to get some fun things like rose petals on the floor, specialty anniversary glasses, and treats. When we checked in they asked us to mark what treats we wanted and what time to bring them in. At 8, we had popcorn, M&M's and Coke brought to us. Yummy. We got some movies from the DVD library and relaxed all night long. The next morning we slept in, had breakfast in around 9 and then headed to get Jack. It was the perfect weekend, especially coming back from this sickness we have had. I'm so happy to have Jason as my hubby. It has been a great six years and I am looking forward to many more! Love you Jase! (We forgot a camera, so no pics.... Sorry).

So Long Contacts...

Blah. I went to the doctor on Tuesday and he took a look at my eyes. Good news is that my eyes are getting better and I can see much much better. I can't believe how bad it had gotten. You never really appreciate something until it is not working properly. Anyway, bad news... my little line didn't work on him. I doubt I will ever get a prescription for contacts from him again... I guess I could try another doctor... :) But, I probably won't He said that if this keeps happening I will eventually have to have a cornea transplant and I don't want that... so, I guess my vanity will have to suffer. I feel like I need a whole new sense of style with glasses... we will see what I come up with until I can afford Lasik. That is now a necessity!

We are off to St. George for the weekend!! WOO HOO!

Bowling Family Night

After setting up cups around the house and throwing balls at them. and watching Curious George go bowling, we finally let Jack see bowling for himself. We went with some neighbors on Monday night for a family night/birthday celebration. Jack was so excited to get there and we could hardly get him to stand still. He wanted to play all the arcade games and run down the lane to see the pins. It was quite hectic trying to keep all the kids from dropping 10lb balls on their toes and to make sure everyone got turns. It was a really fun night and we are so lucky to have such great neighbors! Thanks Dan for having a b-day and letting us celebrate with you. Jack can't wait to go again and we were lucky that the Curious George bowling episode was on the next day!!

Tuckered Out!

This is what I found after I had showered one day. Not a toy around him. Poor kid. We had really been keeping him up a lot over the holidays... We are now getting back to a semi-regular nap schedule. As you can see, he still needs them!! Melts my heart.

Lion Kitty

We took our kitty to be shaved the other day. Jack was so excited to take the kitty to get her hair cut and has paid more attention to her since she was cut then ever before! She was going outside a lot over the summer and really got matted so we had to shave all her hair right off. She seems to be more comfortable now, although she snuggles more because she is cold. She is the cutest thing ever and now I love her even more because she doesn't get hair all over my house.

Christmas, Santa and Snowmen

Here are some pictures from the last few weeks. Our Christmas was great. We spent Christmas Eve with my family. We got Chinese food and watched "Fred Claus." We always sleep over and do breakfast and stuff there and then head to Jason's family. We had a great dinner with them and went and saw Benjamin Button. That was a good show. Jack had a great time this Christmas and totally caught on to the whole thing. We got a lot of good video too so I am going to have to learn how to put that on here sometime. Jack was spoiled rotten, but we couldn't help ourselves since he was so excited. He has seemed to have loved each gift equally and plays with everything he got. He loves his new bike and it is looking like he will have it down by summer time.

Out neighbor came over one night dressed as Santa and gave Jack a book that I gave him to give. It was so cute. He rang the doorbell and stood out there saying "HO HO HO" and Jack ran up to the door and heard him. He looked at me and when we opened the door, he could hardly believe his eyes. He was a little scared, but still talked to Santa, as long as he didn't have to look him in the eye. He talked about that for days after.

We got a lot of good snow over Christmas this year and the other day Jack and I built our first snowman. Jack loved playing in the snow and I thought it was fun as well. I don't remember the last time I played in the snow, but I know why kids like it so much. I am looking forward to taking him sledding after our next snow storm.

Even though it is almost the middle of January, we are still reading Christmas books and Jack is still wanting to hear Jingle Bells in the car... I wish that Christmas could last all year!! (sometimes). :)

What Can I Say??

I hope that people are still checking this blog. I know that I haven't posted in awhile and have many reasons/excuses as to why... for example, my camera has about 500 pictures on it that I need to get developed and so I haven't been taking as many pictures lately, and I don't like to blog without pictures... I have been working at Seagull Book on Saturdays for the Christmas season and doing transcription so I don't want to look at the computer anymore then necessary. AND... I can't see. For some reason, my corneas have decided to swell up and obstruct my vision.

But, all of these things are in the process of being fixed... I don't work at Seagull Book anymore. YAY!!!!!! It was nice to have extra money for Christmas, but a real bummer to give up all my Saturdays. I went to the eye doctor last week and am on drops to help my eyes. I can see much better now, but he told me that I can't wear contacts for "the duration of my life." I'm going back in tomorrow though, and am going to try to talk him into it and also check out Lasik. I just don't think that my lifestyle supports wearing glasses all the time. Do you think that will work on him?? :) Finally, I have big plans to take my camera into Walmart tomorrow and develop my pictures so my camera can be used again. In the meantime, I do have some pictures to post and will do that later today, hopefully.

We have been doing very well over the past month. Jack is continuing to talk and dance and bring joy into our home everyday. He is fully potty-trained during the day, and that has been super nice! I am also getting ready to sign him up for school this week! I can't believe it!! He is growing WAY faster then I ever thought possible! Jason is doing very well and his job is starting to pick up a little bit with rates dropping like they are. I am busy reorganizing my house and trying to think of realistic expectations for the new year. I think my biggest goal this year will be to really start organizing my life in the kitchen and start doing better with dinner and meal plans. We are heading to St. George this weekend to run the half-marathon with some friends. We are going to stay with my Grandma and take Jack along. It will be really fun! We need a vacay desperately!

We had a great Christmas season and a wonderful start to this year, so bear with me and pictures and details are coming soon!! Hope everyone is enjoying 2009 so far!
