Good Example?

I have little ears listening to everything I say these days. Case in point: Sometimes my patience wears thin when training Zoe. I admit that sometimes my temper gets the better of me and I yell various things... I better watch my mouth because today Jack was yelling at Zoe and this is what he said:

"ZOE! STOP IT! RIGHT NOW! I'M GOING TO FREAK OUT!"

HAHA!

Big Boy Bed!

Boo hoo. My little boy is all grown up. I know that we are a little slow in getting Jack out of the crib, but since we don't yet have number 2 on the way, I thought I should take advantage of the bars on the crib and the fact that when he is in there, he stays there! We were lucky and Jack never tried to climb out of his crib, which is why it took us until he was 2 and a half to get him into a bigger bed. So, I was really dreading giving him the freedom to move around on his own and I was also a little nostalgic about the whole thing. I can't believe how fast the time has gone. It seems like just yesterday I was counting down the days until he was born. Now, he is sleeping in a twin bed. Sad.

We finally decided to just get it over with this weekend. We set the bed up on Sunday and so his first night was last night. We did the whole nighttime routine and settled him in. I was so nervous about him actually sleeping that we borrowed a camera baby monitor from my sister and bro in law. They won't need it for a few months (but Shannon is due this week!). Anyway, we set that up and came down and watched as he sang himself to sleep and there he stayed ALL night long! It was really fun watching him go to sleep on that monitor. We might have to buy one for ourselves! I was nervous again about naptime today, and although he had more trouble than last night, he is up there peacefully dozing as I type. I'd say it was a success!

Almost Got That Leprechaun!

We have a Leprechaun come visit us every St. Patty's Day. He turns the eggs and the milk green and leaves golden coins all over the house. This year, I found out that our neighbors were building a trap to catch the Leprechaun and I thought that was a great idea to get Jack into the whole thing. So, we came home and set a trap ourselves. We hung a net from the ceiling and placed a yummy cookie in there as a distraction. Jack was really excited to wake up and see if we had caught anything. Unfortunately, the little guy got away, but we managed to catch his hat and some gold dust. The milk was still green and we got plenty of chocolate money. Maybe next year... we will have to think of something more sneaky! :)

Boys Night Out!

Jason found super cheap tickets to the U b-ball game a couple of weeks ago. He asked me if I wanted to go.... I wasn't that interested in it so he got a friend to go and decided to get a ticket for Jack as well. I get to do fun stuff with Jack all the time, so this was a perfect opportunity to get a little boy time in and I loved it because I had the house ALL to myself!

They took the train up to the U and had a lot of fun eating and watching the game. Jack loved spending time with his daddy and came home saying "GO UTES!"

Happy Birthday to ME!

So, I hate to toot my own horn, but HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME! Well, it was a couple of weeks ago. I am now horrifyingly close to 30! It is really shocking how fast the last 9 years have gone since I graduated from high school. It is frightening.

Anyway, I had a great birthday week (I really celebrated for about five days). I am so lucky to have such great friends who make me feel so special and wonderful family who cooks me fried chicken and looks the other way when I eat shockingly HUGE pieces of cake!

Some highlights of the birthday:

-- Cheesecake Factory and chatting with friends until about 2am. I forgot that I could manage to stay up that late!
-- Friends from Wells Fargo over to my house to hang out. So glad that we have kept in touch!
-- I've already mentioned the fried chicken and cake... Sad to say that I really enjoyed that more then I should have.
-- Celine Dion concert with my sister. I must say that Celine Dion is a STRANGE duck. There were many times during that concert that my mouth fell open in shock (and embarrassment for her. The poor thing was doing mortifying things). She is probably the best singer I have ever heard though. It's a good thing she has the voice and the looks... she would be lost if forced to rely on her personality. I'm sure she is nice person. :)
-- Dinner with Jason's fam and a gift card for a massage! YES!
-- Girls night out with neighborhood friends. It was super fun to watch Biggest Loser and eat Cafe Rio. Two loves in my life. Plus, going to see a movie and having the WHOLE theater all to ourselves. It pays to hit a 10pm movie on a Tuesday night.

Like I said... LUCKY GIRL! Thanks to everyone! I love being 27 :)!

Zoe and Jack... Getting Used to Each Other!

We have had Zoe in the family for a couple of weeks now. Everyone is getting along very well. Well, except for the cat... She still seems to be bothered by the whole situation. When we brought Zoe home, I really think she was mad because she didn't sleep with us for about a week. She is back to sleeping in our bed, but I now know where the term "fighting like cats and dogs..." comes from. Zoe has gotten over her fright with the cat and will now jump and swat and sniff, anything to get a rise out of the kitty. It is pretty funny to watch. Yesterday, Zoe had her pinned down on her back... the poor thing is declawed and doesn't have much of a chance to defend herself. Right after that incident, something else happened, but good for the kitty because Zoe left that one wimpering and crying so she must have been taught some kind of lesson. I missed it, but heard the hissing from the other room! Hopefully, they will get used to each other soon! Although, it is hiliarious to watch!

Jack and Zoe are turning into great friends and even when I am frustrated with the whole puppy thing, I can look at them together and be happy that we got Zoe. They will be wonderful companions.

Chris Harrison is a Stand-Up Guy!

So, I had a bunch of comments on my last post about The Bachelor and all I can say right now is.... What the hell?! I don't even know what to say except that Jason is stupid. He was full of so many words that I lost all faith in him... I thought he was different and that he was in this thing for something more then the other guys that have been on the show... but, as it turns out he really was poisoned by whatever those producers put in their water on that show. We've seen it time and again... (actually, I haven't seen it time and again... I gave up on this show after Bob Guinney chose Estelle or whatever her name was... that was TERRIBLE!!) The guy always changes his mind... mostly after the "After the Final Rose" show, but it always happens!! I don't think that Jason has a clue about what he evens wants.... I can only hope that he really was following his heart and that he won't just bag on Molly now because "the chemistry is different." Props to Melissa for how she handled the whole thing. I think she should be the next Bacherolette!! I do love Molly though and thought she was priceless when he came clean with her! She really did seem shocked! She did take him back a little too easily though... This show is RIDICULOUS and I am a SHAMEFUL fan!

PS: Chris Harrison is a stand-up guy because I bet he would never do something like this. He is the only decent man to ever come on the Bachelor because he can actually be married and have kids... (My hubby hates him... so he is kind of an inside joke in our house... But I really do like him. Cheesy Chris Harrison.)
