More Easter Pictures!

Happy Easter!

We have just returned from St George where we went for our annual Easter trip. Easter holidays during my whole life have been spent in St George with all my extended family. Last year we didn't get to go down, so this year I was really excited to share this tradition with Jack. We normally go to a place in Snows Canyon (the same place every year) and have a big lunch, hike hills, play baseball and horseshoes and just hang out. Most of the time, this is cut short because of weather, but this year it was perfect and we spent several hours there. Jack just loved the sand, the Easter egg hunt, and hiking a big mountain with my dad. After the lunch and fun in the sun, we headed back to my Grandmas condo and went swimming, had naps (Jack) and Jason and I went running. It was a beautiful day!
Jack enjoyed his Easter basket and dying Easter eggs with me. We went out to dinner (all 38 of us) and watched a couple of movies. I always enjoy this trip and feel rejuvenated when we get home. I love my family and the closeness and love that we all share! Happy Easter everyone!!

Another First!

Okay, I know I am posting a lot these last few days, but since I use this as a journal for our family I have to write when something fun happens. This afternoon Jack wanted to go outside, but he was pantless because of an accident during his nap. I was down in the family room and feeling kind of lazy so I thought I would try something to see how much Jack understands. I told him to go upstairs and get a pair of pants from his dresser and bring them down to me so we could go outside. He looked at me for a minute and then said, "Upstairs?" I told him again what to do and off he went. I sat down there thinking that there was no way that he would come down with a pair of pants because they were shut up in his dresser. After a minute or so, I heard him coming back down the stairs and clutched in his little hand was a pair of pants!! I was so proud of him, I just cheered and clapped and he looked so pleased with himself! I put them on him (even though they didn't match his shirt whatsoever) and off we went to the park. We had fun on the slides and seeing some baseball players. It was a good afternoon!!

Biggest Loser!! And other Reality News...

After a dreadful conclusion to "Biggest Loser" last week, we finally get to see who was voted off the ranch. I could not believe that they made us sit through 2 hours of showtime and then we get nothing!! What a joke. I don't know who will be voted off tonight, but I hope that we say goodbye to Maggie... I just love Brittney too much to see her go. Maggie is a little annoying. And if we are lucky enough to say goodbye to one of the boys I hope Roger, Jay or Mark take a hike. I can't stand any of them! I like Dan, even if he is a little cocky, because he is funny... but the others... UGH. Tonight the remaining contestants get makeovers... I always love that! It is fun to see them all fancy, instead of the normal sweaty messes they are. I love this show!!

Also, about another reality show... stay away from "The Bachelor." What a mess all those girls are!! I could not believe my eyes watching that show last night. There was not a classy girl in the bunch. The Londoner should go back to London if those girls are the best the US has to offer! At least he knows trash when he sees it though... He got rid of the worst of them last night.
However, "Dancing with the Stars" looks promising!

Ah... TV!! Where would my life be without it??!

Happy St Patricks Day!

I didn't get to celebrate this day last year since... A- I forgot and B- Jack was too young to really understand. So this year, I wanted to make up for that. All last week I began talking about leprechauns and candy and money to get him prepared for the visit that we had this morning. I picked up some cheapo decorations and gold chocolate coins to add to the magic and then I dyed the milk green and we had green eggs this morning. Jack seemed excited when he woke up and had a trail of golden money all the way from his door to the breakfast table. Jason made the green eggs and we all made sure to dress in green today. I love having kids for this reason. My mom always made every holiday special and now I get to do the same thing. Bring on Easter!!
Update on my ankle... I ran 3 miles on it on Sat... maybe not the brightest idea, but it felt ok... was a little more swollen yesterday so today I just lifted and biked instead of running on it. I think it should be good to go by Wednesday and if not then, then by the time we get back from St George.
Happy St Pattys Day everyone!!

Finally a Wedding!!

YAY! I am so happy to have a new sister in law on the Wiggins side! Josh and Shannon's wedding was yesterday and it was a success! They had it at Gardner Village, with Uncle Andy (Cindys brother) marrying (is that a word?) them. They had excellent food... (I have never eaten there and I am already excited to go back), ice cream, great music and dancing and a lot of love. You could tell by looking at them how happy they are. Today they are headed to Las Vegas for the honeymoon. Congrats to them! We love you both!
Jack and Jason looked great in their tuxedos, although it was a little big on Jack, and my feet hurt from wearing high heels all day. The price we pay for beauty... I got up early this morning to get done at the gym and since my ankles and feet were so weak from walking around in those things all day, I fell and twisted my ankle!! It hurts now and is a little swollen but should be better in a few days. It better be... I have training to do. Our half marathon is in a month! Teaches me to wear high heels!!

We're Starting!!

Well, I didn't think we would start this this early, but this morning Jack told us when he had to take care of "business"... so that's right. We are starting the potty training process. We went out and bought a cute Elmo seat for the toilet and as soon as we got home I put him on it for a test run. He sat there forever, not going, and so I finally got up to get a diaper and when I came back he had gone!! After I showered, we tried it again... and as soon as I left, I heard the tinkle in the potty!! He looked so proud of himself! So it begins... we aren't going to be too crazy about it but when we get the opportunity to use his new seat we will. I think he will catch on sooner or later. He enjoys using his seat and knows that he is doing a good thing when he goes! My baby is growing up!! :( :)

Sad News

Well, our time as dog owners have come to an end. As most of you know, we got Kaya a few weeks ago, thinking that a dog would be good for our family and for Jack. Jack has just fallen in love with her, but she does not return the feeling. We have tried to give her time and space, but she just isn't really fitting in and she has attempted to do harm to our sweet boy on more then one occasion. The final straw was tonight. Jack and I were sitting on the couch and Jack was trying to pet her... He did it once (a little hard) and was going to do it again and she just lost it. She would have pulled him off the couch if I hadn't grabbed him in time. He is fine and didn't even get bitten, but it scared him (and me) pretty badly. It is not really her fault, since Jack tends to get a bit rough when excited, but still... we can't have her around him anymore. I think that she is not that used to kids and gets nervous around them. Add her being mean to Jack to the fact that she has dug out about 5 times we are left with no other choice. I am sad, but I think we have learned our lesson. No dogs until we are done having babies! If anyone knows of someone that would like a Siberian Husky (who doesn't have kids)... let me know!
