Now, onto Savannah's birthday and a spring update. I hope to get to that before I have this baby!!

WINTER POST

Well, I am officially crappy at this blogging thing anymore. I don't even know what to say that has been going on. I guess the only news this time really (besides pictures and the usual updates with those) is that baby #3 is on the way. I am about 21 weeks along now and due on July 29th. It was so crazy because we got pregnant really fast this time around, so the pregnancy has flown by and I have felt relatively good. I am just beginning to pop out and am still able to run, thanks to an awesome maternity belt I bought to support my tummy. Working out makes all the difference in how you feel!! The kids are excited about the baby and Jack is into it more this time around than he was with Savannah. Savannah loves babies and anything to do with them, so I think she will be a great helper. She thinks that she has a baby in her tummy too! We are pretty excited that this one is another GIRL!! So, we are working on names and I'm super happy that Savannah will have a sister! Jack was "expecting a boy" but he seems okay with a girl too. Other than that, we are just hanging out and enjoying things.

Jack is almost down with Kindergarten. We thought about putting him into a Dual Immersion program at Horizon, but decided against it because he has such fun in the school he is in. He has the cutest little group of friends and I just can't bring myself to take him away from them. Two of them live on our street and it is such fun to have them run in and out and around everyday after school. He is getting better at reading and just learned how to ride his bike yesterday. He was so proud of himself and has been riding nonstop for the past two days. Makes me happy to have him away from video games for awhile!! He will start soccer in a few weeks and played basketball over the winter. I am excited to see him grow up even more over the next few months before 1st grade. I really can't believe that he is this big already!

Savannah is doing great and starting to talk a lot more. We were worried about that for awhile, but she is a good little communicator and will be talking a blue streak in no time. She is completely quirky and has such a funny little personality. She loves Jack and wants to do whatever it is that he is doing. She calls him "The Boy" and follows him around everywhere. He has such a busy social life, that she is mostly my little buddy and I love that she is still a mamas girl... unless I piss her off! :) I have a feeling she will love this summer. She loves to swim and be outside... so here's to me never getting anything done around the house!!

Jason and I are doing well. Jason's job is going very well and he enjoys it. I am still working and working out and keeping up with kids. Can't wait to have this baby and settle into a new normal. It seems when I am pregnant life gets put on hold a bit!!

Here are some fall pictures from 2011. I am making a resolution today to spend more time on this blog and get all the years from 2007-2011 printed up. I am pretty happy with how well I have done so far, but I have definitely slacked a bit and in interest of time, I will just post pictures with captions for now to get caught up. :)

Catch-UP

Well, it has been a few months since I last wrote.... we have had a busy fall. We went to California for about a week at the end of September. We did it a little differently and went to San Diego this time. We hit Sea World, LegoLand and San Diego Zoo. We also did the beach and stayed in Redondo Beach for a night. It was a lot of fun. I will have a separate post about that.

In other news... Jason got a new job. He is now selling trucking insurance with the Buckner Company. He is working with my good friend Amy's husband JD. He and Jason are pretty good friends too and Jason is really liking working with him and sees a lot of potential. I hope that it works out. So far, it seems like he made the right choice.

Jack is loving kindergarten and thriving in his class. Since the clip incident, he is really good about not moving it down at all. During parent teacher conferences, she said she didn't remember the last time he moved it down. He knows about 20 sight words and got all E's on his report card. I am happy to see him doing so well and growing up to be such a sweet boy. I love him to bits and pieces. Right now, he is really into Legos, game time, friend time, reading and pretend playing. He seems pretty athletic and is just a happy boy. I hope he always stays like that. I will do a post on each child in the future with pictures, so I will leave it at that for now.

Savannah is finally starting to talk and says.. mama, b, baba, get down, ball, there, elmo, baby, please, color, no, mine, okay, owie, yeah. It was a long time coming and is a lot of fun to hear her sweet voice (or not so sweet depending on the situation). She loves Zoe and the cat. Loves her B, loves books and puzzles, copies everything Jack does and is starting to play really cute with him. She is a little firecracker and definitely has her own personality. She adds a lot of our family and it is a lot of fun now that she is getting older.

Jon comes home from his mission next week!!!! Can't believe it! We are starting our Christmas shopping and have a busy December coming up. I can't thank heaven enough for this little life I have. There are multiple times during the day that I reflect on how happy my family makes me. I am still working out and ran a 1/2 marathon in October that was a lot of fun. I am thinking about baby 3... so we will see how that goes! I love my life and am so happy I have the chance to be a mother!!

More posts to come....

So sad...

Tonight while putting Jack to bed, he burst into tears... He said to me... "Mama, I think I am going to have a bad day in kindergarten tomorrow." I immediately sat up and got in bed with him and started talking to him about what went wrong today. He did something wrong (started climbing through a spider web they had made) and he had to take his clip on the behavior chart down a notch. His teacher had told them that if they got to the bottom, they would have to go to the principals office and so he thought that was going to happen to him and he was worrying about it all day. I promised him that I would take him to school tomorrow and that we could talk to his teacher and figure it out. Oh, it broke my heart.

KINDERGARTEN

Dates.

BFF's.

Oh boy.... it's here. I have been thinking about this day for about a year now.... I have wrestled with the decision... prayed about it... talked endlessly to people about it... and now it has happened. Jack started kindergarten with his friends today!!! They started kindergarten a week late from regular school because they had to bring in all the kids that first week for testing/assessment. I was kind of in shock all last week thinking that this was coming, but it didn't really sink in until this weekend. I got my MIL to come and stay with Savannah so that I could take Jack out on a date before school started.... we went and did his assessment and then to a movie (Mr. Poppers Penguins) and to lunch. We went and got some school clothes and a treat. It was a fun day to spend with my little buddy. I miss having our one on one time now that I am busier and he is so busy playing with his friends. I think he really enjoyed having a special day all for him. Jason took him out on Saturday to the Utah Fan Fest and they bought him some new shoes for school. They also had a fun day together. On Saturday night, we did a back to school feast. Jack got to choose his favorite meal (breakfast) and we made it and drank out of fancy glasses and he got to eat off of a special plate that I painted for him. I read him the book, You Are Special, and cried while reading it. He looked at me like I was crazy! Jason then gave him a sweet blessing, which he was so excited for. He sat very reverently with a big smile on his face the whole time. Sunday, we did the normal things and he went to bed after laying out his outfit for today. I'm surprised that he didn't have a harder time falling asleep. Jason and I stayed up and watched a movie and went to bed about 1200. For some reason, it really hit me as I was going to bed that this is it... He is going to school and 1st grade is just around the corner. I am so happy that I sent him right now. He loves going to school with all his friends and he really is ready for it, but my gosh.... these last five years have gone so fast!! It makes me sad that they will just go faster and faster. I hope that I am doing a good job in being his mommy. I love him so much. I hope he looks back on this time with joy and happiness and I hope that his childhood has been all it can be, thus far. So today was the big day and I actually held up quite well. He was walking around this morning complaining that his tummy was hurting and that made my tummy hurt to think of him feeling nervous. He said at one point, "I'm not sick, but I feel like I have to throw up." :( He was nervous when we got there, and ended up falling down... (bummer), but once he saw his friends he was happy to be there and very excited. I love his teacher. She seems sweet. And she sent home this poem that made me cry more today... but I think I am officially okay now... maybe....

The First Day

I gave you a wink and a smile
As you entered my room today
For I know how hard it is to leave
And know your child must stay.
You've been with him for five years now
And have been a loving guide,
But now, alas, the time has come
To leave him at my side.
Just know that as you drive away
And tears down your cheeks may flow
I'll love him as I would my own
And help him learn and grow.
So please put your mind at ease
And cry those tears no more
For I will love him and take him in
When you leave him at my door.

I love this boy.
