Lately....

Not much has been going on... The only noteworthy thing that we have done lately is go to see Wicked, which was the best thing ever!! We took a picture, but it is ugly so I won't post it. We went with my family and had a great time. The music was great and it was nice to get out.

Jason's bday is this week so Jack and I will be busy planning something fun to do this weekend. I am loving YW's and my lesson today went great. I think. Jason got into the Spudman Triathlon again and has started training for that. We are headed to Lake Powell in two weeks and so excited for that. Jason is looking for another job and has had a few prospects open up in the last few weeks so we are excited about that. I am busier than ever, but I don' t really know what keeps me so busy! I am trying to do fun things with Jack and keep up with housework and my medical transcription job! Zoe is learning some manners and is really a fun dog! We are having a lot of fun and looking forward to a fun summer!!

Happy Mothers Day!

Aren't I the luckiest girl in the world to be the mom of this cutie?! I can't even describe the joy that this little face brings me. Jack is now almost three years old and every time I think about that I almost cry!! There was a day, not long ago, when I was wishing him to grow up and get easier to deal with and now that he is a little person and not a baby and I am having such a hard time!! I love him more and more with each day and just want to hold onto him forever. It terrifies me to think about sending him out into the world and in just a few months I will have to start doing that little by little. He will start preschool and then soccer and piano and then regular school and before I know it, he will be grown up. I never thought I could love someone so much. I am so blessed to be a mother and I can't wait to have another little person to love and to give Jack a sibling.

Things that I love about Jack, our almost 3-year old!!
-- He loves his shows and could watch TV all day. Lately, he loves Dora and Backyardigans, but if something is "not nice" or "mean" he won't watch it.
-- He loves his friends and is starting to play so cute with them.
-- He is friendly to everyone and a great sharer.
-- He doesn't like to make people sad and tries to make everyone feel better.
-- He loves his "B's".
-- He loves to go on walks and get a slurpee and go to the park with me. We try to go about once a week.
-- He loves Zoe and asks for her first thing in the morning.
-- He loves his daddy and playing with both Grandpas.
-- He is learning to count with his fingers and is always practicing. He also knows that he is two, but will be three soon.
-- He loves to read books and sing songs. We go to the library about once a week and check out about 15 books at a time. He requests three books and songs a night.
-- I love singing Twinkle Twinkle Little Star with him.
-- He knows his ABC's and can count to 10.
-- He loves his class at church and learns so much there. He can sing all the songs and knows that Jesus loves him.
-- He loves to say prayers by himself, and do basically anything by himself.
-- He talks ALL THE TIME and loves to have conversations.
-- He likes to help with anything he can from feeding the animals to painting to helping me mow the lawn.
-- The first thing he says in the morning is "Hi Mom... what are you doing?"
-- He loves cereal in a cup and chocolate milk.
-- He loves his "running shoes," really just Nike sandals, but won't go to the gym without them.

I could go on and on and on. We just love him to death and am sooo grateful to have him in our family. I am honored to be his mommy. I can NOT get enough! ( Sorry if this post was dull, more of a journal post for me.)

New Cousin!

I know this post has been a long time coming since Addy is now about six weeks old, but it has finally happened!! Jack has a cousin. Josh and Shannon welcomed this cute thing about six weeks ago and she is such a doll. She is a big girl... was born at about 9.5 lbs. She is doing really well and starting to smile. Josh and Shannon are such great parents and she looks just like her daddy! We are so happy to have her in the family and know that she and Jack will have a lot of fun!! We got these pictures done for my mother in law for Mothers Day.

Little Dixie!

Kris and Andy took us to what they called, "Little Dixie..." I don't know the real name for it. It was just in the hills right above St. George and there was really easy climbing. We had a good time climbing around and looking out over the city. It's too bad that the rain came and cut our outing short. We will have to do it again next time! Jack loved it.

What a haul!! All he wanted was the candy!

We had fun during Easter this year. We made the annual trek down to St. George with my family. Lauren stayed home due to studying for her finals, but everyone else was there including Jon's girlfriend Taylor and Kris's FIANCE Andy. That's right... Kris is engaged!!!! They are getting married in August and we are so excited!! They are a cute couple.

Our trip was fun, except for the rain on Saturday which caused us to move the family picnic to a nearby church. I don't think the kids minded. They found the nursery room real quick and we were still able to have an Easter egg hunt on the church grounds.

Jack loved staying at his cousin's Courtney's house. They really had a good time together. I don't think I saw him at all on Saturday! He loved coloring Easter eggs, finding his basket, eating all his candy and we tried to talk about Jesus over the weekend so he starts to learn the meaning of it all. He also loved going hiking on Friday night before the storm came. Pictures of that in the next post. I love Easter. Now, if only this **** snow would stop!!!!

New Kitchen!

We moved into our house about a year ago. We love our neighborhood and everything, but our house was definitely a step down from where we moved from. We built our first house and we really didn't realize how nice it was to be able to choose your own things and have everything new. When we bought this house... to put it nicely, it was trashed. I don't know what the people who lived here before we thinking, but we seriously had our work cut out for us. We loved the floor plan and did get a really good deal to be able to repaint the ENTIRE house (the walls were DARK brown, pea green and purple) and recarpet and tile the entire house before we moved in. Otherwise, we would not have bought it.

So, it has been a work in progress. After we moved in, we were so sick of painting and everything that we really haven't done anything on the house in about year. (Besides work on the yard... That's a whole other story). But, lately we have really been bugged by a few things in our house. Mainly our kitchen. Our house was built with the cheapest things possible and the cabinets in our kitchen were no exception. They were white-washed oak and had stains and just were really gross. We finally decided to bite the bullet and just restain them. I don't think we really understood what we were getting into... It took us about a week and I don't think I showered the whole time. I think they really look good though!! One thing down... about 50 more to go and the house will really be ours!

Fighting Like Cats and Dogs...

This is how Zoe and our kitty spend most of the day! I don't know if they will ever be great friends, but hopefully they will learn how to tolerate each-other! Zoe is growing so fast and getting so big. I am actually excited for her to get big and a little calmer... hopefully! Jack really does love her though and they are great friends already! The kitty is such a whiner, but I love her anyway.
